The Lifestyle Analysis is a quick overview that highlights the number of potentially difficult listening situations in your day-to-day activities. If you have a hearing problem and are highly active, you are aware of missing words or misunderstandings.
There is no specific degree of hearing loss that dictates when to get a hearing aid. The ‘tipping point” is when, the frustration of misunderstanding conversation outweighs the mental concession to getting "help".

Now, are you ready to take action?
Our action plan, if you choose to contact us, is:
- A telephone conversation will take place to establish your concerns. During this conversation we will also ask questions that are pertinent to physical issues and cosmetic concerns.
- Ask us all the difficult questions! A major part Ears of Distinction’s business is asking to come to your residence or place of business. You must feel comfortable.
- A visit to your home or office will be scheduled to an otoscopic exam of the ear canal and do a complete hearing evaluation. The exam will show if there is a loss, if so, what is the degree of hearing loss and what is the speech discrimination.
- If this is your first hearing test, we will probably do nothing. Surprisingly, it usually take five years for a person to make the decision to purchase hearing aids. If this is not your first hearing test, we can consider the following steps:
- Impressions of the ears will be taken for a customized fit of hearing aids.
- The delivery of the aids will be scheduled.

Everyone is different! The physical fit of the aids must be comfortable, the programming of the aids must provide greater understanding and clarity, and knowing all the nuisances of the aids for cleaning, changing batteries and insertion, all take time.
Then a written program for success, based upon realistic expectations, has to be established. It is our one and only goal—that you will be satisfied.
